Over the past five years Simon Clifford has been in ground breaking roles driving new technology and strategic thinking in Policing, focusing on better collaborative working between agencies and the public. As Director of Digital and data working across UK Policing, he led the strategy and innovation work, responsible for “Setting the Direction” where he reformed the national Technology and Data standards platform and governance approach. He pioneered Cyber capabilities (creating an automatic Cyber incident reporting technology - Police Cyber Alarm).
Chairing the Cabinet Office Resilience Direct board, he introduced crowdsourced geo-spacial data UK wide to a multi-agency community of over 80,000 frontline responders, accelerating the response through automation and incident location data of life saving emergency services. Always focused on operational improvement, he has led the introduction of AI automation to support crime investigation.
Now leading Cliff42 he is continuing this work across the public sector, working nationally and internationally to share state of the art capability and transformational technology to protect the public and pursue criminality.
Simon has previously served the Association as Chairman and Deputy Chairman Political. He served his community as a local councillor on South Northants District Council for two terms.
